Timbits (U5, U7 and U9)
U5/Beginner Division
The U5 division of the Timbits Softball program is for players turning 4 or 5 in the current season. This program focuses on creating a fun and active environment for young players to develop their basic softball skills.
Program Details:
- Session Schedule: One evening per week
- Duration: 1 hour per session
- Structure:
- 40 minutes of skill development
- 20 minutes of lead-up games that introduce aspects of softball in a playful, engaging way
- Unique Feature: U5 players use the same honking 1st base as Blast Ball for an extra dose of fun!
Equipment Needed:
- Glove
- Batting helmet
U7 Division
The U7 division is designed for players turning 6 or 7 during the current season. At this level, players begin refining their softball skills while also engaging in modified gameplay.
Program Details:
- Session Schedule: Two sessions per week (flexible days, including weekends depending on the number of teams and season's schedule)
- Location: RMSL ball diamonds at 9th Avenue and Broad Street North
- Duration: 1.5 hours per session
- 45 minutes of practice
- 45 minutes of modified gameplay
- Unique Feature: U7 also uses the honking 1st base from Blastball to add a fun twist to gameplay!
Equipment Needed:
- Glove
- Batting helmet
U9 Division
The U9 division is for players turning 8 or 9 in the upcoming season. At this level, players will focus more on refining their skills and learning the rules of the game while participating in modified game play.
Program Details:
- Session Schedule: Two sessions per week (flexible days, including weekends depending on the number of teams and the season's schedule)
- Duration: 1.5 hours per session
- 30 minutes of practice
- 1 hour of modified game play
Equipment Needed:
- Glove
- Batting helmet (batting cage not mandatory)
